Flow Turbulence and Combustion provides a global forum for the publication of original and innovative research results that contribute to the solution of fundamental and applied problems encountered in single-phase, multi-phase and reacting flows, in both idealized and real systems. The scope of coverage encompasses topics in fluid dynamics, scalar transport, multi-physics interactions and flow/turbulence control. From time to time the journal publishes Special or Theme Issues featuring invited articles.Contributions may report research that falls within the broad spectrum of analytical, computational and experimental methods. This includes research conducted in academia, industry and a variety of environmental and geophysical sectors. The emphasis is on originality, timeliness, quality and thematic fit, as exemplified by the title of the journal and the qualifications described above. Relevance to real-world problems and industrial applications are regarded as strengths.Contributions may be full-length research and review manuscripts or short communications of no more than 6 printed pages. The latter may report new results, address contentious topics or discuss full-length papers previously published in the journal. Short contributions are likely to benefit from rapid publication in the separate category of Short Communications. All contributed manuscripts as well as invited contributions to Special or Theme Issues, will undergo rigorous peer review by three expert reviewers prior to decisions on acceptance.Founded in 1948 as Applied Scientific Research, the journal has evolved from reporting general research results to its present focus on turbulent flows and related topics. The title Flow Turbulence and Combustion, adopted in 1998, reflects this thematic inclination and focus.Flow Turbulence and Combustion is published in association with ERCOFTAC – the European Research Community on Flow Turbulence and Combustion. ERCOFTAC is an active worldwide association of universities, research institutes and industries collaborating in the area of fluid mechanics and combustion.
